Actuarial Development Program: Unlock Your Potential

Manulife and John Hancock is seeking highly motivated and analytical individuals to join our Actuarial Development Program. This program is designed to provide a comprehensive development experience for new graduates and experienced actuaries, with a focus on career advancement and professional growth.
Program OverviewThe Actuarial Development Program is a 2-3 year rotational program that provides participants with hands-on experience in various actuarial roles, including pricing, valuation, experience analytics, risk management, asset liability management, and corporate oversight. Participants will work closely with experienced actuaries and business leaders to develop their technical and business skills, and will have opportunities to contribute to high-impact projects and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Design and price insurance and annuity products
- Establish actuarial assumptions, quantify reserves, and meet regulatory and capital requirements
- Provide analysis and sound advice to business partners to help meet our strategic goals
- Collaborate with management to identify risks and opportunities while taking initiatives to improve business performance
- Support a culture of continuous improvement through ongoing analysis of procedures and actuarial methodologies
- Working towards a University degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Finance, or a related discipline
- Possessing relevant actuarial experience and demonstrating a strong commitment towards FSA/FCIA designations (e.g. passing at least one SOA exam) are considered assets
- Well-developed interpersonal, organizational, communication and leadership skills
- Solution-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter and team player with a high level of initiative and strong work ethic
- Excellent working knowledge of Excel is required. Experience with AXIS or other actuarial software is an asset
