Job Summary

Challenger Motor Freight Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Intermodal Business Development Manager to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for expanding our company's footprint in the intermodal transportation sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Analyze market trends to inform sales strategies, maintain a robust sales pipeline through effective lead generation, networking, and leveraging industry events and conferences.
  • Account Management: Develop and implement comprehensive account plans that align with clients' objectives and offer value-added intermodal solutions, regularly review account performance, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Client Relationships: Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, addressing any issues or concerns promptly to ensure a seamless and positive experience.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the marketing team to create targeted campaigns and promotional materials that highlight our intermodal capabilities and success stories.
Requirements
  • College/University graduate in Business, Logistics, or related field.
  • 4-5 years' sales experience managing large National Accounts is required.
  • Intermodal and Railway experience is preferred.
  • Transportation industry experience is required.
  • Customer service and account management experience is preferred.

Supervision and Decision Making

This position reports to the Director of Intermodal. The immediate supervisor and/or department leader periodically checks assignments for progress. This position has no authority over other members of the team and has no direct reports.

Work is assigned, and there is considerable scope to decide on priorities and the procedures to be used. Work is generally only checked for achievement of the assignment or objectives of the project.
