Job Title: Facilities Cleaner

Job Description: We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Facilities Cleaner to join our team at the City of Windsor. As a Facilities Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our staff and visitors.

About the Job:

  • Perform cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and cleaning washrooms, furniture, windows, walls, ceilings, floors, and appliances.
  • Collect garbage and replenish paper and chemical supplies.
  • Write reports for stock, maintenance, and building repair issues.
  • Perform minor repairs, such as replacing lights, and assist with furniture moving and setup for special events.
  • Operate a forklift to assist with deliveries and garbage bins, and use a golf cart to bring garbage to the dumpster.
  • Perform general tasks associated with the operation of the caretaking division, including basic maintenance of equipment and keeping it clean.

Requirements:

  • Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency.
  • Up to three (3) months of experience with current cleaning practices, WHMIS, operation, and maintenance of cleaning equipment.
  • Valid and lawful Class 'G' Driver's License for operating a City of Windsor vehicle.
  • Ability to complete assigned duties with a minimum of supervision.
  • Good relations with corporate staff and the general public.
  • Willingness and ability to work any shift.
