Summary

At ServerMania, we pride ourselves on being a thought leader in the IT hosting industry. As the Director of IT, you will oversee all aspects of information technology to achieve corporate goals. In addition, you will be determining business requirements for IT systems and managing IT infrastructure design and implementation while eliminating security risks. You must have a solid technical background while also managing and motivating people. You must ensure IT systems and people are influential and functioning within the limits of budget, time, and specifications of the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee all technology operations (e.g., network security) and evaluate them according to established goals.
  • Establish training and documentation materials to support all departments with their IT requirements.
    • Promote healthy obsession with documentation throughout the team.
  • Project Management is a must; ensure all projects are added into JIRA with the scope and realistic timelines, and work with the teams(s) to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Provide monthly progress reports for your ENG department.
  • Develop and implement business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergencies or data loss.
  • Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by the organization.
  • Identify and eliminate security vulnerabilities with strategic solutions that increase data security.
  • Coordinate IT activities to ensure data availability and network services with as little downtime as necessary.
  • Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their IT needs.
  • Manage vendor relationships and purchase IT equipment/services with your ENG Team.
  • Identify the need for upgrades, configurations, or new systems and support new software and hardware implementations.
  • Assist the accounting department with budgeting/forecasting.
  • Ensuring reported issues are resolved promptly.
  • Meet with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others to solicit cooperation and resolve problems.


Supervisory duties may include:

  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise staff or participate in staffing decisions
  • Schedule, organize, and assign projects to members of the IT team
  • Promote career growth and development with timely and effective employee check-ins
  • Handle employee concerns, including discipline and termination, as needed and by company policy


Qualifications

  • 8+ years' experience working within an IT environment
  • 3+ years' experience overseeing and managing an IT department
  • Juniper Certified or working with Juniper gear for a minimum of 4 years
  • Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science/Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Project Management Certified (ideal)
  • Experience in analysis, implementation, and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
  • Experience in controlling information technology budget, including forecasting
  • Sound understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunications systems
  • Proficient in the latest technology for IT systems and management
  • Solid working knowledge of all relevant coding languages and security protocols
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with a team-oriented approach
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization (including technically-minded and non-technical colleagues)
  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks and projects
  • Excellent project management skills to ensure the team is on track
  • Innovative and creative mindset
