About the OpportunityIt is an exciting time to join the People team and impact all aspects, including performance analysis and management, leadership development, people processes, employee wellness, team connection, career development, etc. The People Business Partner supports ongoing work within Wavelo while also partnering with their People team counterparts in the other businesses to further develop its people strategy and scale its operations. You need to be ready to push the limits of what the People function can do
This is a 1-year contract for a maternity leave coverage.
What You'll be Doing- Provide sound practical yet empathetic support for managing new and ongoing employee relations issues, ensuring the best possible employee experience as a result.
- Cultivate and maintain open communication and positive relationships with managers.
- Strategize on new employee initiatives and other special projects.
- Help deepen employee awareness and understanding of the many opportunities and programs on offer and the ways that the People Team can provide support.
- Collaborate on defining an overarching People Strategy, and then help to lay out a practical framework aligning People policy decisions and procedures.
- Maintain a 'People Program Calendar' carefully coordinating and balancing the events generated by all Engagement, Learning, Merit and Tucows programs.
- Clearly outline and reinforce expectations and expertly guide management in interpreting and adhering to employment standards and in best supporting their teams.
- Prioritize growing and strengthening leadership through our focused leadership development initiatives.
- Maintaining a forward-thinking approach, provide consistent and well-targeted outreach support to our employee base.
- Collaborate with Learning and Enablement teams to develop and deliver relevant training resources and materials.
- 3+ years of proven HR experience.
- Experience in the tech industry, ideally from a similar size/stage hyper-growth organization, would be an asset.
- Solid and up-to-date knowledge of HR best practices.
- Outstanding judgment and strong decision-making skills are required to know how and when policies can be customized to fit our unique organization and emerging culture.
- High level of dedication and responsiveness.
- Outstanding follow-through and the ability to quickly and effectively get the job done.
- Willingness and ability to persevere and find effective solutions in the face of ambiguity and change.
The base salary range for this position is $96,600 to $107,300. Range shown in $CAD for Canadian residents. Other countries will differ. Range may vary on a number of factors including, but not limited to: location, experience and qualifications. Tucows believes in a total rewards offering that includes fair compensation and generous benefits.
