A Power Engineer is required to operate and maintain high-pressure steam boilers, air conditioning units, ventilation systems, and emergency power diesel generating units in a hospital setting.

About the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Operating and maintaining high-pressure steam boilers, air conditioning units, ventilation systems, and emergency power diesel generating units
  • Responding to calls from other departments concerning maintenance and operation of hospital equipment
  • Working in accordance with Power Engineer's and Plant Operations regulations
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • High school graduation or equivalent
  • 4th Class Stationary Engineer certificate
  • Previous experience in plant/building operations and maintenance
  • Three years' experience in maintenance and plant operations preferred
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Knowledge and observation of safe work practices
  • Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Ability to work independently and as an effective member of a team
  • Working experience with computers considered an asset
  • Current WHMIS certification
  • Ability to work 12 hour shifts
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Compensation and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive:
