**Learning Facilitator/Instructor, Clinical Informatics** **Summary:** Deliver education programs for clinicians and staff, utilizing educational theory and knowledge to promote skill development and improve patient care.

As a Learning Facilitator/Instructor, Clinical Informatics, you will play a key role in delivering education programs for clinicians and staff at BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services. Your expertise in educational theory and knowledge will be utilized to promote skill development and improve patient care. You will work closely with the interdisciplinary team to develop and evaluate education programs, ensuring they meet the identified educational needs of learners.

  • Utilize educational theory and knowledge to deliver and evaluate education programs for clinicians and staff.
  • Provide direct clinical instruction to new and existing staff as required, promoting skill development and improving patient care.
  • Support students, preceptors, peer mentors, and clinical programs using teaching and learning principles and a program planning and evaluation process.
  • Assess individual and group learning needs, analyzing data to determine specific educational requirements to support learner competency and skill development.
  • Develop, review, and modify learning resources and educational reference documents to ensure they reflect the most up-to-date, evidence-based best practice.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching/learning strategies to support education and instruction activities, including facilitating groups, coaching, mentoring, and using educational technology.
  • Participate in the evaluation of the effectiveness of clinical information system education programs, activities, and resources.
  • Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities, evaluating the effect of changes in clinician, provider, and staff practice.
**Qualifications:**
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM) or current practicing registration as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the BCCNM.
  • Three (3) years' recent, related teaching experience and/or group facilitation relevant to the clinical area or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Valid BC Driver's License as local area travel requires the use of a personal vehicle.
**Skills & Knowledge:**
  • Knowledge of organization's policies, procedures, and standards of care.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach, demonstrate, facilitate, engage, and lead in a classroom setting.
  • Demonstrated adult education delivery experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with learner assessment and providing feedback.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote a creative learning environment.
  • Strong computer literacy and proficiency with current computer applications and equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to use critical thinking in approach to teaching.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop educational materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, either one-on-one and/or in-groups, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and work direction.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective consultation.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work independently and in collaboration with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with and/or guide others in resolution of conflict issues.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
