Job Title: Business Analyst I

The Business Analyst I is a key member of the Arts Instructional Support and Information Technology (ISIT) team, responsible for supporting the successful delivery of projects and services for the administrative, teaching, and research needs of the Faculty of Arts.

As a Business Analyst I, you will work closely with faculty, staff, and students to align business initiatives with technological solutions. You will consult with stakeholders to carry out business process assessments, document business requirements, and prepare functional, system, and program specifications.

You will also be responsible for planning workshops, interviews, and surveys, preparing materials, communications, and leading implementation. Additionally, you will consolidate and review information gathered through various requirements gathering processes, summarizing findings, and presenting to stakeholders and senior management.

The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline and a minimum of two years of related experience. You will also have a demonstrated understanding of key technical environments and the ability to effectively identify integration, security, scalability, and performance requirements.

As a Business Analyst I, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and changing environment, delivering multiple assignments and building good working relationships with functional teams, management, and client stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consult with stakeholders to carry out business process assessments
  • Document business requirements and prepare functional, system, and program specifications
  • Plan workshops, interviews, and surveys, and prepare materials, communications, and lead implementation
  • Consolidate and review information gathered through various requirements gathering processes
  • Present findings to stakeholders and senior management

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline

Working Conditions:

The Business Analyst I will work in a fast-paced and changing environment, delivering multiple assignments and building good working relationships with functional teams, management, and client stakeholders.

Reporting Relationship:

The Business Analyst I will report to the Associate Director, Service Strategy & Design, and receive direction from senior managers.

Supervision Given:

The Business Analyst I may involve limited supervision of student staff.
