Summary

Founded in 1983, Bimcor, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bell Canada, currently manages over $30 billion invested in a wide range of public and private financial assets, mainly on behalf of pension funds of Bell Canada and its various subsidiaries and affiliates. Bimcor's head office is in Montréal and it ranks as one of the largest private sector pension fund managers in Canada.

The incumbent will support and address ad-hoc requests from the Investment team .

Key Responsibilities
  • Review investment activity reports from external fund managers and perform quantitative and qualitative analysis by extracting key data points
  • Provide detailed financial analysis of new investment opportunities using excel based financial models
  • Assist in the preparation of ad-hoc reports for portfolio reviews as well as new investment opportunities pitches intended for the various stakeholders for decision-making purpose
  • Prepare weekly news summary and find relevant market articles using Bloomberg
  • Assist the team with different market mapping exercises
  • Assist in portfolio ESG reviews by analysing underlying exposure and completing Green investment data collection
  • Participate in the portfolio software integration project by helping coordinate the information between the different teams and completing data scoring
  • Complete any other task as requested by the investment team
Critical Qualifications
  • Undergraduate or Post-Graduate degree in progress (2nd or 3rd year) with a concentration in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, statistics, actuarial sciences or a related field
  • Good base knowledge of the investment world
  • Proficiency in financial analysis
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg Terminal and Financial Modeling (basic level) an asset
  • Mature, flexible, autonomous, highly motivated team player with good communication skills
  • In the course of their duties, this person will be required to interact with French & English speaking stakeholders across Canada

Internship start date September 3rd, 2024 to May 2, 2025
