About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing a degree in artificial intelligence, data science, computer science, Earth sciences, mathematics, statistics or a related field to gain hands-on experience in software development. You will work on implementing and testing code changes, troubleshooting defects, and assisting in the development of requirements with product management and architects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and test low to moderately complex code changes to fix identified defects in existing software products or to moderately enhance new/future software releases.
  • Troubleshoot low to moderate defects within code (within own component); may provide input into and performs actions as designated in the remediation plan.
  • Assist in the development of requirements with product management and architects; provides recommendations to enhance design to prevent recurring defects.
  • Participate in the discovery phase of small to medium-sized initiatives to come up with high-level design.
  • Assist and provide additional support in solving software/systems monitoring issues and escalations which require moderate technical expertise to troubleshoot.
  • Complete low to medium configuration activities such as alerts, dashboards, etc.
  • Assist in automation of deployment of solutions as code.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD, in artificial intelligence, data science, computer science, Earth sciences, mathematics, statistics or a related field.
  • Available to work with us 35 hours per week for the duration of the co-op term.
  • Available to work from the office 2 days a week (and 3 from home).
  • Must be returning to school in the fall following the co-op term.
  • Practical experience in data science, machine learning or deep learning.
  • Practical experience with Python or R programming languages.
  • Understanding of data science approaches in financial services (an asset).
  • Knowledge of AWS, Cloud and Terraform (an asset).
  • Sequal and CICD (an asset).
  • Bilingualism is essential (French and English).
