About the Opportunity

The Clinical Nutrition Specialist is responsible for providing expert nutrition advice to patients, families, and communities. This role involves leading team efforts to support the nutritional health of patients, clients, and communities through health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, support, and rehabilitation.

The successful candidate will participate in the Integrated Dietetic Internship program, including preceptoring dietetic interns. As a member of the inter-professional team, the Clinical Nutrition Specialist will contribute to client care through collaboration with healthcare team providers, sharing nutrition expertise, ensuring quality and continuity of care, and supporting a range of healthcare services.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced dietitian with a strong background in clinical nutrition. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Foods and Nutrition, a Dietetic Internship Program, and current registration with the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association. A minimum of one year of working experience as a dietitian is preferred, with inpatient clinical nutrition experience being an asset.

The successful candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Competency in dysphagia management, enteral and parenteral nutrition, and experience counseling patients in an outpatient setting are also essential.

Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent part-time position, working 80% of 60 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $43.42. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
