Environmental Services Worker

We are seeking an Environmental Services Worker to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and functional environment for patients, families, staff, and visitors.
The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning all units as assigned, including patient rooms and public areas. This will involve tasks such as mopping, dusting, and vacuuming furniture, floors, and stairways, as well as buffing, scrubbing, and refinishing floors.
The Environmental Services Worker will also be responsible for moving and arranging furniture and changing curtains and drapes. Additionally, they will ensure that the principles and practices that guide our work, such as safety, quality, and inter-professional collaboration, are integrated within the services they provide.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate who has a commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices, and organizational health. The ideal candidate will have a Grade 12 or equivalent work experience and be able to maintain confidentiality.
Travel to other sites may be required, and access to a reliable vehicle is necessary. The successful candidate will also be required to operate equipment such as Taski spray buffers, burnishers, auto scrubbers, and shampooers.
Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French being preferred. Please ensure your resume is up to date and includes all relevant education, experience, training, and certifications.
Hours and CompensationThis is a casual relief position, and the successful candidate will be paid $20.02 per hour. Please note that this is a bargaining unit position, and preference will be given to bargaining unit employees.
