THE OPPORTUNITY

At TechInsights, our Co-op Student Program is founded on the principle of nurturing the next generation of talent by providing an immersive and enriching work experience. We aim to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world application, offering students the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a dynamic and innovative industry. Through this program, we strive to foster a culture of mentorship, collaboration, and continuous learning, empowering co-op students to contribute meaningfully to our projects and initiatives.

This role is an on-site role at our Ottawa office.

The publishing team is seeking a detail-oriented Publishing Co-op Student. You will be responsible for copy-editing content submitted by technical writers and analysts, as well as curating accurate and consistent content for our clients as part of our online technical content.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Review written technical documents for clarity, grammar, spelling, punctuation, content, and style in accordance with TechInsights' standards
  • Make any necessary corrections to technical documents
  • Give feedback and advice to technical writers and contributors
  • Communicate and work with other members of the Publications team to ensure that content is published in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all written content meets our company's standards

WHO YOU ARE
  • Completion or near-completion of an academic technical writing program
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organized and possessing a strong attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of web coding and authoring systems, such as HTML or XML
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines and handle pressure
  • Must be a post-secondary student
  • Work is prescribed and completed with little autonomy.
  • Works with either close supervision or under clearly defined procedures.

As part of the recruitment process for this position, you will be required to submit your latest citizenship and/or permanent residency information. This information will be used to comply with U.S. Export Control Laws and Regulations.
