Recreation Facilitator

Meadowood Manor, a faith-based personal care home, is seeking a skilled Recreation Facilitator to join our team. As a Recreation Facilitator, you will play a vital role in planning and implementing recreation programs that cater to the social, mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of our residents.

About the Role

  • Develop and implement recreation programs that promote quality of life for residents
  • Assess residents' needs and interests to create personalized recreation plans
  • Collaborate with residents, staff, and community resources to plan and execute programs
  • Track statistics and report on program attendance, cancellations, and issues
  • Attend and contribute to Resident Care Team Conferences and Care Plan Review meetings
  • Assist with meals, prioritize work around resident care activities, and maintain confidentiality
  • Document clear and concise notes, complete resident recreation assessments, and perform other related duties

Requirements

  • High School Graduate
  • RRC Certificate "Therapeutic Recreation Facilitator for Older Adults" or equivalent
  • Related experience in long-term care and/or working with disabled or physically challenged individuals
  • Ability to plan, organize work, and coordinate programs independently and as a team member
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer skills an asset
  • Physical ability to tolerate constant standing, walking, portering, bending, and lifting

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPR, First Aid, and Food Serving Certificates
  • Ability to be creative, have initiative, and possess a good imagination
