Position Overview

In collaboration with the Manager, Recreation Services, develops and implements recreation programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of residents, adhering to provincially recognized Standards of Practice.

Responsibilities
  • Plans and facilitates recreation programs for individuals and groups of residents.
  • Works with minimal supervision and in a team environment to achieve program goals.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure program effectiveness and resident satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Completion of a Certificate Program in Recreation Facilitation for older Adults or a Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management or Kinesiology.
  • Advanced preparation in geriatric studies is preferred.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements align with Employer policy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working as a Recreation Facilitator.
  • Recent experience with planning, implementing, and evaluating recreation programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with residents, family members, colleagues, and supervisors.
Working Conditions
  • Physical health to meet the demands of the position.

This role requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
