This role requires full time on site presence.

Key Tasks:
Lead the morning show team.

Conceive, research, write and produce original story ideas for current affairs that will engage and inform the audience.

Deepen our community connections and elevate a range of voices.

Respond quickly to breaking news events as it unfolds.

Ability to manage remote live broadcasts.

High-level knowledge of legal and ethical issues related to journalism.

Deep knowledge of and connection to the Indigenous and equity-seeking communities across the North.

Experience and proven ability to tell news stories in compelling and innovative ways.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong team player.

Possession of a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets the minimum requirements of CBC/Radio-Canada's insurance company.

Ability to work a variety of shifts including early starts, late finishes and weekends.
