The Opportunity
This role is based in Mississauga and is part of Abbott's Electrophysiology (EP) business, which is advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation.
Job Description
- Manage and supervise the preparation of financial plans, including revenue recognition and balance sheet plans.
- Review and challenge demand forecasts to ensure reasonableness and alignment with commercial strategies.
- Manage the month-end closing process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end reports.
- Prepare monthly performance reports, including balance sheet and P&L analysis.
- Prepare and monitor spending budgets, including SG&A, freight, and distribution.
- Provide finance support to commercial teams, including cost-benefit analyses and finance procedures guidance.
- Supervise, coach, and mentor a Senior Financial Analyst.
- Prepare and regularly update financial SOPs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 5+ years of previous experience in a similar role.
- Revenue recognition experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and financial applications.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Receptive to change and a team player.
- Ability to prioritize and meet strict deadline requirements.
