We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RPAS Chief Instructor, Maintenance to join our team. This individual will play a critical role in managing and coordinating all aspects of RPAS Maintainer training support, including classroom instruction, support to Steady-State RPAS courseware refinement, Maintenance Trainer (MT) and Weapons Load Trainer (WLT) custodianship, and management of all other RPAS Maintenance Instructors on site.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a Team of RPAS Maintenance Instructors
- Recruit, develop, and manage a team of RPAS Maintenance Instructors (RPAS Maintainer and ATIS) to deliver against the standards and requirements of the RPAS training syllabus.
- Ensure that instructors are aligned on all matters related to standards of instruction, teaching methodologies, and handling of, and reporting on, RPAS students.
- Ensure Consistency in Training Delivery
- Ensure that training delivered is consistent with training objectives and teaching points in the approved training plan(s), per applicable training standards.
- Reporting student progress, issues, and deficiencies relative to the course delivery.
- Coordinate Daily Activities and Work Assignments
- Create work schedules, plan, and coordinate daily activities and work assignments along with future projects to ensure that an adequate roster is available at all times to cover the contracted Training Availability Windows.
- Provide Training SME Feedback and Input
- Provide Training SME feedback and input into CAE's Training Device development.
- Act as Primary RPAS Maintainer SME
- Act as primary RPAS Maintainer SME whilst supporting Training-related IPTs and Working Groups.
- Occasional Travel
- Perform occasional travel in support of the project.
- Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified Maintenance Instructor or Canadian Armed Forces Instructor Course, or equivalent.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with writing and amending multi-media instructional courseware.
- Familiar with quality standards, training plans, and training media used to ensure teaching points are met per Training Standards.
- Eligibility and Security Clearance
- Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident or on a valid Work Permit.
- Capable of obtaining and maintaining both Controlled Goods and a Government of Canada NATO SECRET security clearance.
- Physical Abilities
- Physically able to perform all instructional tasks in a live and synthetic setting.
- CF Maintenance Activity Authorizations and Standards
- In-depth knowledge of CF Maintenance Activity Authorizations and Standards C-05-005P03/AM-001.
- Quality Standards and Training Media
- Familiar with quality standards, training plans, and training media used to ensure teaching points are met per Training Standards.
- Previous Experience in Training/Operations/Maintenance
- Previous experience in Training/Operations/Maintenance of aircraft platforms.
