Cable Assembler

Position Overview:

The Cable Assembler's main responsibility is to assemble cable harnesses and circuit boards within specified tolerances and time frames. This role also involves operating coding, cutting, and testing equipment, as well as interpreting blueprints and technical documentation. Based in various locations, the Cable Assembler will work on a range of programs, from formboard to on-aircraft assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manufacturer and repair electrical harnesses for installation
  • Assemble assemblies using Production Control cards and wire assembly operation sheets
  • Operate cut & coding machines
  • Fabricate cable assemblies by grouping and tying
  • Operate automatic test equipment for acceptance testing
  • Assist in on-job-training of other cable assemblers

Requirements:

  • High School Leaving Certificate or Vocational/Trade School training
  • Training in a mechanical/electrical field and blueprint reading
  • Four years' experience as a Cable Assembler
  • Ability to maintain security clearances
  • Commitment to Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment policies
