Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Deli Clerk to join our team. As a Deli Clerk, you will play a key role in ensuring our customers receive exceptional service and experience the freshest hot and ready-to-eat meals that Safeway offers.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
- Prepare and serve hot and cold food, including sandwiches, salads, soups, and specialty trays
- Operate cash register and process payments, handling cash, credit card, and debit transactions
- Offer product samples to customers and provide recommendations on products
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures, with a focus on maintaining a clean and organized store environment
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
