Catering Coordinator - Sage (Regular Full-Time) is a key role in promoting and selling Sage Catering services to UBC departments and external clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating on-site events, supervising a team of up to 20 catering workers, and performing various administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet with potential and existing customers to introduce and sell Sage Catering services
  • Advise customers on menu options, sequence of service, and budget alternatives
  • Prepare catering contracts for clients using proprietary software
  • Order rental equipment, submit staff requirements, and prepare event layouts
  • Supervise and coordinate workload of catering workers, ensuring high-quality service and product
  • Train catering workers and follow up on training to ensure understanding of material covered
  • Participate in on-site set-up, service, and tear down of events
  • Perform related day-to-day office administrative duties, including answering phones, record keeping, and typing correspondence
  • Promote Sage catering products and services through various channels
  • Arrange for feedback from clients and follow up on customer complaints and concerns
  • Monitor and ensure safety standards are adhered to at all times
Requirements
  • High school graduation and completion of Food Service Management course
  • FoodSafe level 1 certificate and a minimum four years of related experience
  • Willingness to respect diverse perspectives and demonstrate a commitment to enhancing one's own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Serving It Right required
  • Effective oral and written communication, organizational abilities, supervisory skills, presentation techniques, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently, sell and market a product line, coordinate various projects, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to type 30 wpm and proficiency in computer software, including word, excel, outlook, and desktop publishing
