**Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Acute Care**
A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is required to provide high-quality patient care in an acute care setting at the Labrador Health Centre.
**Job Description**
The LPN will work as an active member of the nursing team to provide safe, competent, and ethical nursing care to patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining professional and organizational standards, and will report to the Clinical Nurse Manager.
**Key Responsibilities:**
• Completes nursing assessments consistent with scope of practice
• Participates in the development, revision, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans
• Provides safe, competent, and ethical nursing care and makes decisions within the LPN scope of practice
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient plan of care
• Practices independently according to professional and organizational standards
• Documents according to professional and organizational standards
• Maintains competency and updates knowledge by availing of educational opportunities
• Participates in quality assurance/improvement activities
• Represents nursing on various committees
• Works collaboratively with multidisciplinary team
• Administers medication
**Requirements:**
• Graduation from high school or equivalency
• Graduation from an approved LPN education program
• Current registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CLPNNL)
• Breastfeeding course/education
• Knowledge of computer skills and an ability to work with Meditech is an asset
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR)
**Salary and Benefits:**
• CG-29 of the NAPE-HS salary scales, $26.54 to $29.48 per hour plus the applicable Labrador Allowance
• Variable Shifts; Variable Hours
