Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse I

At NL Health Services, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse I to join our team in the Outpatient Department.

Job Summary:

The LPN I will provide clinical support to healthcare providers in the operations of the outpatient clinics, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist healthcare providers with procedures, including removal of sutures, post-op drains, and wound care.
  • Complete EMR tasks as required, maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Order, mix, and draw medications for physicians, ensuring accurate dosing and administration.
  • Monitor and assess vital signs, glucometer readings, and other patient data, reporting any concerns to healthcare providers.
  • Administer medications as per provider orders, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by healthcare providers or management.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from high school supplemented by the successful completion of the Licensed Practical Nursing course.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Successful completion of a satisfactory certificate of conduct.

Working Conditions:

The LPN I will work in a fast-paced outpatient setting, interacting with patients, healthcare providers, and other staff members. The successful candidate must be able to work variable shifts, including Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime as required.

Salary and Benefits:

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary, commensurate with experience, plus the applicable Labrador allowance, as per the Nape-HS Collective Agreement.
