About the Role

The Claims Supervisor plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional claims service experiences for our customers. As a leader of the claims team, you will be responsible for providing guidance and leadership to staff and specialists, ensuring maximum efficiency and productivity in achieving key business goals and customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate and supervise daily activities of the claims team, ensuring timely and accurate processing of claims
  • Provide guidance and leadership to staff and specialists, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and development
  • Manage service levels by organizing, distributing, and monitoring workflow, setting priorities to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity
  • Conduct or contribute to employee development and performance management through coaching and follow-up on the development of team members' technical competencies
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the achievement of business objectives
Requirements
  • 5+ years of progressive insurance adjusting experience
  • Proficiency in English and French is required
  • College or University degree preferred
  • Chartered Insurance Professional Designation and a desire to continue relevant industry education (FCIP, etc.)
  • Call center experience is an asset
  • Excellent customer service skills, including empathy and concern for customers
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Excellent investigative and analytical skills
  • Highly proficient time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Excellent knowledge of policy wordings, all lines of business, corporate guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to coach, guide, and positively motivate employees
  • Excellent knowledge of automobile, habitational, farm, and commercial policies
  • Excellent knowledge of medical and legal terminology
  • Detail-oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry
  • Exceptional advanced negotiation skills
