About the Role

The Budget Analyst is a key member of the SFU Finance team, responsible for:

  • Designing and developing sound budgetary processes across the university
  • Monitoring and projecting financial activities
  • Developing reports to highlight issues and increase transparency
  • Triaging budget support activities
  • Developing projections and models to support accurate forecasts and budgets

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishing effective business relationships with key clients
  • Staying current on financial issues and business changes in the portfolios
  • Communicating and training clients on budgeting best practices and systems
  • Conducting operational and maintenance activities related to the Hyperion system

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Commerce
  • Professional accounting designation (e.g. CPA)
  • Five years of related experience in budgeting, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
