Job Description

Mission

As a Senior Director at CIMA+, you will play a crucial role in supporting our engineering and project execution teams. Managing a team of approximately 60 individuals across various CIMA+ offices in Quebec, you will oversee activities related to studies, engineering, and project execution in the structural and infrastructure domains for our clients in the Energy and Resources sector. With a background of at least 15 years in industry or engineering, you will be at the forefront of driving business objectives forward. Your responsibilities will include mobilizing teams for the successful delivery of complex multidisciplinary projects, particularly in sectors like mining, metals and manufacturing, pulp and paper, and biofuels. This role not only presents opportunities for career advancement and ownership within the organization but also grants you a high level of autonomy in resource management.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead teams in Quebec to bring multiple projects or large-scale initiatives to life.
  • Supervise, mentor, and cultivate a team of directors, fostering a capable workforce.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely delivery and production alignment with set priorities and deadlines.
  • Implement effective management and communication strategies to drive change, skills enhancement, commitment, talent retention, and diversity.
  • Oversee project efficiency and profitability, managing project progress and taking charge of key strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure proper assignment of responsibilities and control mechanisms to ensure efficiency, staying within budgets and timelines while upholding quality standards.
  • Monitor adherence to health and safety regulations for employees working at client sites.
  • Promote accountability and motivate teams to achieve set objectives.
  • Assess and define current and future requirements for deliverable production in line with growth targets, deadlines, and costs, including aspects like recruitment, training, and equipment.

Qualifications

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in civil and/or structural engineering, or a related field.
  • Be a member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec.
  • Have a minimum of 15 years of pertinent experience.
  • Possess experience in a heavy industrial setting.
  • Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in both French and English is crucial for seamless interactions with our diverse stakeholders and for successful project completion nationwide.
  • Exhibit project and team management proficiencies.
