Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Equipment Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day activities related to proactive and reactive maintenance within the plant. The position works as part of a team, focusing on preventative maintenance activities to ensure that production is able to run efficiently and meet deadlines, while ensuring optimal equipment performance.
**Responsibilities:** • Respond promptly to plant and equipment maintenance needs, ensuring all standard safety procedures and practices are followed. • Assist in developing and following all preventative maintenance programs within the plant, with the goal of ensuring limited downtime of equipment and machinery. • Assist in developing equipment maintenance and operation SOPs of equipment as required. • Work as part of the maintenance team, assist in trouble-shooting during line equipment set-ups, and monitor and maintain the equipment for optimal performance. • Maintain the Company's equipment database to organize work orders, equipment repairs and equipment calibration for validation purposes. • Work with external vendors and contractors as required to ensure equipment maintenance needs are met. • Perform equipment inspection and documentation as required. • Ensure that adequate spare parts and supplies are maintained in-house to allow for quick repairs. • Work on special projects as assigned to address cost reductions, improved efficiencies and production accuracy. • Follow all safety policies, procedures and rules, and ensure a safe work environment for all staff. • Perform other duties and projects as assigned. **Desired Qualifications:** • 3-5 years of equipment maintenance experience is required, with a preference for experience in a manufacturing environment. • Journeyperson Electrician is preferred. • Attention to details and accuracy is required. • Strong teamwork, organization and communication skills are required. • Familiarity with HAACP and Good Manufacturing Practices is considered an asset. • Strong mechanical aptitude and trouble-shooting skills are required. • Strong time management skills, with the ability to work independently is required. • Good computer skills. **What We Offer:** • RRSP match • Extended health care • Dental care • Career growth opportunities • Paid time off • On-site Parking • Work-life balance **Work Schedule:** Overnight shift: 11:30 PM to 8:00 AM
