General Site Superintendent

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled General Site Superintendent to oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, extensive construction knowledge, and a commitment to safety and quality. As a key player in our team, you will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with safety standards.
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise during the construction process.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to ensure project goals are met.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on project status, including progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Manage project budgets and schedules, ensuring financial and time objectives are achieved.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field from a recognized Canadian or Ontario-based university or college.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in construction with a proven track record of successfully completing projects in the $25-$40 million range.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
