Meat Stocker Job Description

A Meat Stocker is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized store environment, providing excellent customer service, and adhering to company standards and policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Zoning the department to ensure efficient stock rotation and customer flow.
  • Rotating stock and checking for expired products to maintain a fresh and safe shopping experience.
  • Ensuring merchandise is properly signed and priced to prevent errors and maintain accuracy.
  • Adhering to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, food handling, and product rotation to ensure customer safety.
  • Providing excellent customer service by taking orders, slicing and preparing merchandise, and answering customer questions.
  • Following proper procedures for ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
  • Preparing deli food orders, meat, cheese, and other items using slicers, stackers, and other utensils to meet customer demands.
  • Following Health and Safety guidelines to maintain a clean and safe store environment.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a clean and organized store environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Ability to follow company standards and policies and maintain accuracy and efficiency in all tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:

The following qualifications are preferred for this position:

  • Previous experience in a retail or food service environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and handling procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
