Job Summary
Makes and serves specialty coffee drinks and related food and beverage items in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome customers by determining their coffee interests and needs, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive experience.
- Educate customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu, highlighting the unique characteristics and benefits of each item.
- Prepare coffee drinks by following established recipes and preparation techniques, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Sell coffees and coffee grinding and brewing equipment by explaining the differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines, demonstrating how brewing equipment operates.
- Maintain inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply, stocking coffee brewing equipment, and maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for the coffee bar.
- Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
- Improve quality results by studying, evaluating, and redesigning processes, implementing changes, and maintaining and improving the appearance of the coffee bar.
Requirements:
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Previous work experience as a Barista is an asset, but not required.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions, and request clarification when needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 25 pounds.
