Nursing Site Leader About the Role We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Nursing Site Leader at Royal Columbian Hospital. As a Nursing Site Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing direct patient care and the overall supervision of staff on weekends and evenings. Key Responsibilities • Oversee and coordinate the delivery of direct patient care at the Regional Hospitals after hours, on weekends and/or as assigned • Direct Patient Care Coordinators (PCCs) and/or Charge Nurses and coordinate appropriate patient/resident placement and/or discharge needs • Liaise with the Access Coordinator and BC Bedline to facilitate patient/resident transfers • Assess critical situations and make decisions on course of action, including bed utilization and authorization of bed openings • Ensure that appropriate resources are available, including staffing, to provide safe care • Interview, select and supervise staff, delegate work and provide input to Managers for performance appraisals • Investigate and resolve staff issues in accordance with collective agreement provisions and hospital policies • Attend to problem/conflict situations, customer service/client relations issues and facilitate successful resolution Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an approved School of Nursing • Five (5) years' recent, relevant, acute care experience, including a minimum of two (2) years' experience in a supervisory and/or administrative capacity • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) Skills and Abilities • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing theory and evidence-based practice • Comprehensive knowledge of health care disciplines and their role within health care • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and prioritize work in a continuously changing environment • Demonstrated ability to supervise, lead and provide work direction • Demonstrated ability to teach and facilitate learning of staff and/or patients/families About Fraser Health Fraser Health is a leading healthcare provider in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, serving over two million people.
