Project Manager

Job Summary: Nova Scotia Health seeks a Project Manager to lead real estate projects and manage leases across the province, requiring strong project management skills and experience in building design, contracting, and commercial real estate transactions.
Nova Scotia Health is the largest provider of health services in Nova Scotia, with a diverse team of professionals providing high-quality inpatient and outpatient services. We operate hospitals, health centres, and community-based programs across the province, with a focus on achieving excellence in health, healing, and learning.
The Real Estate program is responsible for creating and managing all Nova Scotia Health leases, regardless of type, at locations across the province. The Project Manager will develop and project manage real estate projects, working closely with external and internal partners, including clinical staff, building owners, contractors, designers, and vendors.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Project Management training through Project Management Institute or other recognized institution.
- 5 years of relevant experience in building design, contracting, commercial/industrial real estate transactions, construction and project management.
- Experience managing complex projects and stakeholder teams, committees, etc.
- Strong interpersonal skills and consultation within a diverse range of stakeholder teams.
- Strong communication, planning, presentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and address simultaneous customer concerns by order of criticality while also maintaining adherence to standards and resolving potentially conflicting demand across the customer base.
- Strong analytical, process and problem-solving skills.
The following would be considered an asset:
- Professional Engineer or Architect.
- Property Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) through Project Management Institute.
- Real estate (leasing) contract development and management particularly in a Healthcare environment.
- Design-build and/or construction oversight particularly in a Healthcare environment.
- Competencies in other languages, French preferred.

This is a permanent, full-time position with a salary range of $42.94 - $53.67 hourly. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
