Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Water Meter Reader to join our team at the District of Saanich. As a Water Meter Reader, you will be responsible for performing water meter readings and consumption recording within the municipality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular water meter readings and record consumption data
  • Inspect water meters and meter boxes to ensure accurate readings and identify any issues
  • Interact with the public to provide information and resolve any concerns
  • Investigate and report unusually high or low consumption and any conditions in water installations
Requirements
  • Grade 11 or equivalent education
  • Three months experience in reading utility meters, including experience in dealing with the public
  • A valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence
  • Sufficient physical strength, stamina, and coordination to perform work in all types of weather
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (40 hours per week). This is a full-time position with a competitive wage and excellent benefits package.
