Arena Service Programs at Bill Copeland Sports Centre, Kensington Complex, and Rosemary Brown Recreation Center are looking for individuals with strong customer service skills who are committed to working with children and families to deliver first-class skating opportunities for our community. Our staff team is welcoming applications for Recreation Attendant 1 (Skate Shop & Skate Patrol) positions.

This role includes the following duties and responsibilities:Performing a variety of duties related to arena programs and enforcing arena policiesPatrolling during public skating sessions and working in the skate shopMaintain a fun and safe environment on the ice while supervising public skating sessionsCustomer service and building and maintaining relationshipsPerforming basic equipment maintenance/repairs and sharpening skatesEducating patrons on properly fitting equipment and maintaining/repairing helmets and skatesPerforms other related work as required
The qualifications for this position include: Minimum of Grade 10 high school educationCustomer service experienceStrong ability to multitask and prioritize work and strong interpersonal communication skillsPrevious experience skate sharpening is an assetHigh Five Training and First Aid with CPR-C Certification are assets
Other relevant information:Selected candidates will be required to attend an on-ice assessment sessionYou must provide your own skates and a CSA-approved hockey or snow sports helmetApplicants successful in the on-ice assessment will be considered for an interviewApply online at today This opportunity will remain open until filled.
