Key Responsibilities- Communication and Coordination: Act as a communication link for the assigned area, coordinating with other departments and facilities to ensure seamless patient care.
- Appointment Scheduling: Schedule, book, and coordinate patient appointments, ensuring timely and efficient access to care.
- Chart Management: Assemble and maintain patient charts, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to nursing staff, including data entry, filing, and maintaining records.
- Timekeeping and Leave Management: Maintain timekeeping records for regular and casual staff, and process requests for vacation, leaves of absence, and terminations.
- Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation of a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program, plus one year of recent, related experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively, including patients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to keyboard at 40 wpm.
- Ability to organize work and prioritize tasks.
