Coulson Aviation seeks an experienced Automotive Body Painter to join its paint and finishing department.

Coulson Aviation is a global aerial firefighting company operating in Canada, the USA, Australia, and Chile. With a fleet of large aerial firefighting aircraft, we provide rapid aerial fire suppression services.

We are a growing organization with 63 years of experience. Due to our company growth and expanding footprint, we are looking to add to our team.

This full-time position is based at our airport facility in Port Alberni, BC. Compensation will be competitive with market rates and based on experience.

Job Description:

  • Reports to the Paint Manager to assess current needs and determine which project(s) and location(s) will require attention
  • Preparation, priming, and painting of aircraft components, parts, and panels
  • Mixing paint
  • Equipment operation
  • Spray gun operation
  • Working with stencils, decorative items, and other materials
  • Use of scrapers, solvents, sandpaper, acids, and other refinishing products
  • Painting of aircraft parts while adhering to procedure and specifications
  • Use of appropriate painting and polishing techniques to complete assigned tasks

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Automotive or Aviation painter
  • Knowledge of paint properties, mixing, and application onto various surfaces
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning, sanding, and preparation work prior to painting or polishing tasks
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work independently and with a team

Preferred Requirements:

  • Preference given to those with an Automotive Refinishing Technician "Red Seal" Certification
  • Experience in the aviation industry is considered a significant asset
