Parks and Transportation Supervisor


Job Summary
The City of Wetaskiwin is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Parks and Transportation Supervisor to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our citizens by maintaining essential infrastructure and enhancing community spaces.


Key Responsibilities
As a Parks and Transportation Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the Parks and Transportation service areas, ensuring the efficient and effective maintenance and management of city traffic controls, road repair, snow and ice control, drainage network, parks, sidewalks and trails, outdoor sports facilities, green spaces, and the city cemeteries.


Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Diploma in civil engineering with a minimum designation of certified engineering technologist (C.E.T.), or related field/certification.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in parks and/or transportation operations.
  • Three (3) years of progressive team management experience combined with strong management skills to effectively supervise, develop, inspire, and motivate a diverse team of employees.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and plan effectively to meet deliverables and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong understanding of OHS and Risk Management.
  • Possess and retain a valid class 5 driver's license.
