Job Title: Registered Nurse IC, Temporary Part Time (12 months)
Location: James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre, Gander
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with colleagues, and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide complete nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Conduct thorough health assessments and identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current registration with the Association of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador
- Current ACLS and BLS certification for health care providers
- Two years of nursing experience
- Completion of the Health Assessment course or willingness to complete next available course
- Current PALS and CTAS certification or willingness to complete next available courses
- Consistent demonstration of the core values of NL Health Services: Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence (I CARE)
- A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance
- A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in emergency nursing
- Completion of an Emergency/Critical Care Course recognized by Central Health
Working Conditions: 37.5 hours bi-weekly (Shift work may be required)
