Accounts Payable Clerk
Nova Scotia Health is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Western Zone, Kentville. As a key member of our Financial Services department, you will be responsible for carrying out assigned functional accounting and maintaining the integrity of information within our accounting subsystems.
About the Role
- Reporting to the Assistant Manager - Accounts Payable, you will be responsible for responding to and serving as a point of contact for customers and vendors.
- You will ensure that the principles and practices that guide Nova Scotia Health are integrated within the support that is provided by the work that you do and through the messages you deliver.
About You
- We are looking for a graduate of a recognized post-secondary business program with an emphasis in Accounting.
- You should have a minimum of one (1) year recent and related experience in a computerized Accounting environment in the past three (3) years.
- Work experience in Accounts Payable is preferred.
- You should be able to use MS Office (Word, Outlook and Excel), Accounting software and be willing to learn new programs.
- You should have knowledge of Accounts Payable and General Accounting.
- You should demonstrate accountability, judgment and decision making skills, commitment to customer service, communication and conflict resolution skills, collaboration and teamwork skills, commitment to continuous improvement and innovation, leadership abilities, planning, organization and time management skills, commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices and organizational health, and exemplary work history.
- Physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position are required.
- Experience working within the functional area of Accounts Payable and SAP is an asset.
- Experience in a health care environment is an asset.
- Competencies in other languages are preferred; French is an asset.
What We Offer
- A permanent, full-time position with 70 hours bi-weekly.
- A competitive hourly rate of $27.62.
