The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to assess patients, collect information, and make nursing diagnoses. They will also be able to collaborate with patients and their families, establish a therapeutic relationship, and promote person-centered care.
Responsibilities:
• Assess patients and collect information from various sources
• Make nursing diagnoses and determine whether conditions can be improved or resolved by nursing interventions
• Plan, perform, and evaluate nursing interventions and care
• Collaborate with patients and their families in developing care plans
• Establish a therapeutic relationship and promote person-centered care
• Participate in care and discharge planning
• Coordinate nursing care and prioritize tasks
• Collaborate with the interprofessional care team
• Teach patients and families about illness prevention and health maintenance
• Document assessments, nursing diagnoses, and interventions
Qualifications:
• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing
• Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
• Completion of applicable post-graduate coursework or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support
