Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Education Assistant to provide individualized support to students with special needs in our classrooms. As a key member of our educational team, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans that cater to the unique needs of each student.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students with special needs in the classroom, learning support room, or other designated areas
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans in collaboration with teachers and other support staff
  • Provide personal care and support to students as needed, including assistance with daily living skills and mobility
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of all students
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless support for students
Requirements
  • Grade 12 graduation and post-secondary training in special education or a related field
  • Recent experience working with students with special needs, preferably in a classroom or learning support setting
  • Ability to operate specialized equipment and assist with personal care tasks as needed
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities in a dynamic educational environment
