Duties and Responsibilities- Inspect and Document Site Conditions: Conduct thorough inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with approved plans, permits, and City standards.
- Quality Assurance and Control: Verify the quality of work performed by contractors and ensure conformity with contract documents and specifications.
- Compliance and Enforcement: Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act, City bylaws, and other applicable regulations.
- Communication and Collaboration: Liaise with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure project progress.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of inspections, site conditions, and project progress.
- Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve complex problems related to construction projects.
- Knowledge and Skills: Possess a strong understanding of municipal engineering drawings, contract documents, and construction standards.
- Education and Certification: Possess a post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering or a related field and a C. Tech or C.E.T designation with OACETT.
- Experience and Skills: Minimum two years of experience in municipal infrastructure construction inspection and a strong understanding of construction standards and regulations.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in INFOR, Hat-TW, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to lift, pull, and carry heavy objects. A valid Ontario Class G driver's license and a clean driving record are also required.
