We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Device Reprocessing Technician to join our team at Concordia Hospital. As a key member of our MDR Medical Device Reprocessing department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient processing of medical devices.
Key Responsibilities- Disassemble and decontaminate surgical instruments, respiratory equipment, and other patient-care equipment in accordance with departmental operating procedures and Infection Control policies.
- Assemble, inspect, package, and sterilize instruments, equipment, and surgical linens as prescribed by departmental operating procedures.
- Participate in the department's Quality Improvement programs and activities to ensure the highest standards of quality and patient care.
- Perform various cleaning duties following aseptic technique and transport supplies between the MDR department, the OR, and the ER Trauma Room.
- Current MDR experience is required.
- Grade 12 or recognized equivalent is required.
- Successful completion of a recognized CRCST Program with appropriate certification is required.
This position requires a high level of physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting. The successful candidate must be able to work with chemical solutions and tolerate a fast-paced environment.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.
