HSE Lead role responsible for site-based health and safety management, reporting, and training, with a focus on strategic objectives and company safety program administration.

**Job Description**

**HSE Lead**

The HSE Lead is a collaborative team player responsible for the strategic objectives of the company through coordination of field and office activities, and administration of the Safety Program.

**Responsibilities:**

* Lead monthly corporate safety meetings and OHS Committee meetings
* Prepare HSE reference material for site personnel (Safety Meetings, Toolbox Talks, etc.)
* Audit completed safety documentation on BIS Safety / SafeTapp
* Verify personnel training and set up training as needed
* Maintain and update the company training matrix
* Conduct weekly site inspections on all active sites
* Follow up on incident reporting and lead the incident investigation process
* Manage subcontractor prequalification and ensure documentation of all subcontractor requirements related to health & safety
* Complete safety orientations for new hires and new projects
* Prepare all HSE statistics and reports on a weekly and monthly basis
* Update all online safety sites and corporate statistics for bidding on a quarterly basis
* Assist in the preparation of project HSE plans and documentation required prior to kick-off
* Ensure all physical safety documentation is current and distributed to sites at project start
* Participate in the annual review of the corporate HSE program
* Act as a resource for all field personnel
* Perform other related HSE duties as required

**Requirements:**

* 3+ years of field safety experience
* Field safety experience for heavy civil construction is required
* Great mentorship ability to lead by example
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong understanding about how to develop positive safety culture
* Must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle to get to sites in and around Saskatoon
