Electrical Project Manager
Modern Niagara is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our Ottawa office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the budget, schedule, and work closely with foremen, subcontractors, and vendors to deliver successful projects.
The Electrical Project Manager plays a critical role in assisting Project Delivery teams in completing projects within the planning process, while focusing on reaching overall financial goals in collaboration with the Operations Team.
The Electrical Project Manager role encompasses a wide range of duties, including:
- Managing labour on assigned projects with the support and direction of the Electrical Operations Manager.
- Completing monthly financial forecasting reports for all assigned projects and attending Project Status Review (PSR) meetings.
- Reviewing contracts for scope, maintaining productivity, quality, and costs, and ensuring projects are completed in a manner that supports the overall strategic and operational objectives of the company.
- Participating in client and construction meetings as required and disseminating information to our workforce and subcontractors.
- Managing all change order pricing in Accubid database.
- Effective communication with the ability to develop and sustain productive working relationships with employees, subcontractors, and other partners at all levels.
- Willingness to advance both professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and seminars, reviewing professional publications, establishing a personal network of industry peers, and being highly motivated to benchmark state-of-the-art practices.
Key Qualifications and Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in construction management/Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4+ years of project management experience within the construction industry.
- Ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance.
- Previous experience working in the construction industry, particularly field work.
- Ability to interpret site and building plans and specifications.
- Experience with project or construction management software (e.g. Procore).
- Effective communication with the ability to develop and sustain productive working relationships with employees, subcontractors, and other partners at all levels.
- Ability to work autonomously with frequent travel to site locations.
- Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experienced with, and a willingness to train and mentor team members.
- General understanding of QA/QC as well as Health and Safety practices/requirements.
