Job Title: Laboratory Supervisor

Join our team at Royal University Hospital as a Laboratory Supervisor, where you will play a crucial role in supervising technical staff and work processes in a dynamic laboratory environment.

As a Laboratory Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Supervising technical staff and work processes to ensure efficient and effective laboratory operations
  • Performing laboratory duties associated with the detection, prevention, and management of physiological and pathological conditions
  • Leading and guiding technical staff to achieve high-quality results and meet departmental goals
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures to improve laboratory operations and patient care

Requirements:

  • Forty-eight (48) months of previous discipline-related experience to consolidate knowledge and skills
  • Basic knowledge of other disciplines within the department

Education:

  • Medical Laboratory Technology diploma (MLT)

Licenses:

  • Saskatchewan Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists
  • Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science

Competencies:

  • Leadership skills to motivate and guide technical staff
  • Communication skills to effectively interact with staff, patients, and healthcare professionals
  • Organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
  • Analytical skills to interpret laboratory results and make informed decisions
  • Interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Intermediate computer skills to effectively use laboratory software and systems

Other Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license (where required)
  • Licensed and registered by Saskatchewan Society Medical Laboratory Technologists
  • Certified by the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science
