About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Repairworker I - Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure. As a key member of our infrastructure maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of people, goods, and government services across the province.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair work on buildings, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and painting occupations.
  • Plan, inspect, organize, and perform general and preventative building maintenance on departmental offices, buildings, and material storage units.
  • Coordinate and assist tradespeople and contractors to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Maintain inventory and the maintenance shop to ensure efficient operations.
  • Prepare cost estimates for maintenance and repair projects.
Work Environment
  • Office location: Moncton
  • Work holidays, weekends, and/or variable hours
  • Work in adverse road and weather conditions
  • We promote a scent-reduced environment
  • Some travel within the province will be required
Requirements
  • Graduation from high school or GED
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience in work-related experience at the semi-skilled level in buildings, mechanical, and/or electrical occupations.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Possession of a valid New Brunswick Class 5 driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with Building Management systems
  • Possession of a Journeyman's Certificate in a carpentry or electrical trade
