Salary:

Vertex is currently accepting applications for a Equipment Technician at our Rockyview, AB location. The Technician is responsible with all repairs and maintenance of various different types of equipment. We are looking for someone who has overall experience various types of equipment and can adapt and prioritize during peak busy times.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience operating various types of equipment
  • Experience maintaining 3D cleaning tools including gama jets, badgers, barracudas and other high pressure tools
  • Pipefitting experience would be an asset
  • Experience working with small engines
  • Knowledge of various fittings and hoses
  • Maintenance and knowledge of boilers, direct fired heaters, valves and nozzles
  • Able to understand equipment systems to effectively and efficiently determine the necessary route for repairs
  • Experienced, competent and able to repair, troubleshoot, adjust, overhaul and maintain mobile heavy duty equipment
  • Preferably has a valid class 1 driver's license and clean drivers' abstract
  • Demonstrate a commitment to environmental compliance and safe work practices
  • Ability to perform duties in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ability to work independently while managing time and productivity
  • Successful candidates will demonstrate integrity and reliability

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Troubleshooting industrial equipment by inspecting hoses, fuel lines, fuel injector failure, coolant related issues, wiring and light problems, air leaks, etc.
  • You will be responsible for performing inspections, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on various types of heavy equipment
  • Maintenance and knowledge of boilers and valves and nozzles
  • Operating hand power tools such as impact wrenches, torque wrenches, and drills
  • Lifting and carrying and repairing hydraulic pumps, tri-plex pumps
  • Diagnose/troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems
  • Diagnose/troubleshoot and repair electrical systems
  • Reading and interpretation of mechanical and electrical schematics
  • Completing "live" troubleshooting on equipment by operating them in order to identify the root cause of a malfunction
  • Must be able to be on call and travel to various sites throughout Alberta when projects require
  • Perform other tasks as directed by Supervisor
