Horizon Health Network in beautiful New Brunswick is looking for a Director, Addiction and Mental Health to join our team

Horizon Health Network (Horizon) is seeking a strategic, collaborative, adaptable individual to join our team as a Director, Addiction and Mental Health, Fredericton and Upper River Valley. The ideal candidate will have experience with operational and strategic leadership of health services in a multi-stakeholder environment and a commitment to continuous quality improvement to ensure accessible, timely and high-quality addiction and mental health services to citizens.

Who you are

You have a worked in health leadership position for 3-5 years, preferably with some experience in the field of addiction and mental health. You have a high proficiency level in Microsoft Office applications. You have strong interpersonal skills and are a skilled collaborator who is at ease co-leading with psychiatrists and working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders. You have solid people and financial management skills. You are committed to healthy, respectful and safe workplaces and model leadership attributes that nurture such environments.

You have a worked in health leadership position for 3-5 years. You have a master's degree in business or health care management or a degree in an affiliated healthcare profession with specialized training in business/management.

Written and spoken competence in English is required at an advanced level. Spoken and written French is a strong asset.

What you will do

  • Work closely with a psychiatry co-lead to oversee and ensure quality, effectiveness, access and timeliness of programs and services
  • Build and maintain relationships with physicians and internal and external stakeholders and be responsive to stakeholder requests and concerns
  • Participate in strategic planning for Addictions and Mental Health services in Horizon Health Network
  • Nurture and healthy and safe workplace for all
  • Oversee the development of operational plans and monitor and evaluate their
    implementation in their zone
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality and safety of services and nurture a culture of continuous quality improvement on teams, participating in Addiction and Mental Health regional quality activities
  • Prepare, manage, monitor and report on budgets
  • Lead regional initiatives and programs as requested
  • Monitor and report on performance indicators
  • Oversee the processes that ensure adherence with professional practice standards,
    policies and procedures
  • Oversee human resource planning and assisting recruitment and retention activities
