Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at the University Health Network. As a Pharmacy Technician, Inventory Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our pharmacy teams across various sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists in the technical aspects of drug distribution, including purchasing, inventory control, and financial accountability.
  • Maintain high standards of inventory control through current Broader Public Sector (BPS) purchasing practices.
  • Perform technical aspects relating to purchasing, inventory control, financial accountability, and billing.
  • Participate in the training of new employees and perform other duties consistent with the job classification.
Requirements
  • Completion of a two-year community college Pharmacy Technician Program or recognized equivalent required.
  • Certificate of competency from the Pharmacy Examination Board of Canada preferred.
  • Active licensure with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) as Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) mandatory.
  • Eligibility to register with OCP as RPhT required.
  • Two years of practical and related experience preferred.
  • Certification (R.Ph.T.) by the Ontario College of Pharmacists required.
  • Previous hospital experience with group purchasing membership preferred.
  • Previous hospital experience with automation technology preferred.
  • Membership with a professional pharmacy association is an asset.
